Me and My Camel (Bedouin Boy) By Patricia Hall

Me and My Camel (Bedeuin Boy) By Patricia Hall

Me and my Camel

Me and my Camel

We’ve come a long long way

Such a long long way

But I don’t know where my journey will end

I see others on the way,

I don’t know if they are my friend

I am alone, and for myself I must fend

I would give anything for me and my camel

To have a real friend.

Me and my Camel

Me and my Camel

We’ve come a long long way

Such a long long way

Life in my county can be dusty and quick

People easily can fool you with a word

But it’s a trick

And before you know it, your possessions are threatened

With the sound of a trigger click

And all you have left is your multicolored blanket

Dreams of your herd, and a twig or a stick

As a young  Awlad Ali’s I am trying to avoid the Army

But I don’t know which way to go so they don’t conscript me.

Me and my Camel

Me and my Camel

We’ve come a long long way

Such a long long way.
